A job interview can be a stressful experience and most people dread them, but remember a job interview is your chance to shine and show what you’re capable of and it’s the last hurdle in your search for a new job. The secret to a successful interview is preparation – do your homework and an interview can be a positive, useful experience.

PREPARATION IS KEY
Look at the company website, pay attention to their core values and main business functions.
Read the job description – if you have any questions regarding this check in with us and we can talk it through.
Know your own knowledge – know your CV – think about your key skills and unique points.
BEFORE THE DAY
How are you getting to the interview? Have you got your travel options sorted? Do you know where you are going? Timings? Who you are meeting?
ON THE DAY
Be on time! If you are running late or have any problems please call us can we can make the client aware.
Make sure you are polite and professional from the moment you arrive.
Listen and take your time to answer, if you are not sure what is being asked, ask for clarity.
If your interview is online, a zoom or teams call it really is essential to remember if the person on the other end of the phone or laptop can sense even a tiny bit of negativity or disinterest that call will go downhill fast…..they can also see and hear your surroundings. Take the time to set up a quiet and distraction free space.

Research shows that smiling whilst talking not only helps you sound happier but will actually make you happier too – so a win for everyone. Put on a smile and always, always, be polite and interested in what is being said to you.
